“This year, my focus will be on becoming a stronger storyteller with my photography. Ive already started making a few changes and one of them is the Adventure Weekend Session which will be an alternative, more documentary-based approach to the engagement session”. ~Jessica
What is the difference between an adventure weekend and a traditional 2 HR shoot? The idea of the AWS is that you, the couple, get to decide what adventure you’d like to go on. We would go on this adventure together for the whole week / weekend, and I would tag along to capture everything you two do. You can make this weekend as elaborate as you want to or as simple as you would like. Anything from a walk through the forest, taste testing delicious food, cuddling up in a yurt in Big Sur, antiquing in a huge warehouse, hip hop dance lessons, or whatever your creative minds can come up with. I recommend doing something you’ve been wanting to do for a while now, or something that you love doing together. My job is to capture and tell the story of your adventure together. The only catch is that I would be around for the whole weekend so we would get to know each other very well, but we would have so much fun doing it!!
For a 2-hour, traditional engagement shoot, we will travel to one location, and while I would still like for this session to be memorable for you, I do not get to know you as well during these sessions. An adventure engagement session is different. I believe that when you try to live life to the fullest, everyday is an adventure, so an adventure weekend is anything that describes you!
HERE ARE SOME WONDERFUL ADVENTURE SESSIONS I HAVE DONE
Heather + Josh inside their hotel room in Charleston SC where they were vacationing for the weekend.
Courtney + Josh traveled from Charleston, SC to meet me in Asheville to be photographed in this amazing dome at Asheville Glamping. We also adventured to Looking Glass Falls in Brevard, NC for the second part of their shoot.
Beth + Mike own a bottle shop in Wilmington, NC and I went down to stay with them for the weekend and photograph the grand opening of Session Beer Market.
Mackenzie + Zach decided to venture to Lake Glenville and splash around on the lake for a bit, then hike down to Cullowhee Falls and have a few intimate moments with each other and mother nature.
These are just a few images of my favorite adventure sessions done in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.
If you have booked a wedding with me and decide to upgrade to this type of engagement session instead of the complimentary 2 HR engagement session the price would start at $600. There may be additional costs due to travel. We will discuss this further if you decide this engagement session is right for you!
