I had the pleasure of going to visit my sister and her boyfriend in Wilmington, NC this past weekend. Mike is now the proud owner of Session Beer Market in Wilmington, NC off of S. College St. Mike has been dreaming about opening his own bottle shop for years. In my mind he has always been somewhat of a beer guru. Whenever I am having a craving for a certain kind of beer I call up Beth or Mike to ask what I might like and they are always on point!
Honestly I feel kinda invested in this place. I saw this building when they first bought it and it was a complete mess. It was painted red and blue, the tile on the wall was painted all blue and the ceiling tiles had stains all over them. So one weekend me, my husband, my mom and dad all went to help renovate the place. We helped take down every single ceiling tile and paint them black, then put them back up. We also helped scrap off all of the blue paint on the wall tile. Granted we did not do near as much as beth and mike did but we still worked our tails off to get this place ready for the grand opening.
Here are just a few of my favorites of Session Beer Market.
Beth took the time to hand build all of the tables and the bars that you see around Session. I just love the old wood mixed with the rustic piping legs.
The grand opening was on August 4th. There was live music by Kim Dicso and lots of friendly faces. There was an awesome turn out.
Friendly dogs are always welcome at Session in Wilmington, NC.
The next day we did a little shoot of just Mike and Beth hanging out having a drink. I just love how this bottle shop fits right in with the feel of Wilmington, NC.
